Michael Aanes
- My name is Michael Aanes and my contribution to the website was a study to help determine if Methicillin-resistant Staphylococcus aureus (MRSA) rates are increasing or decreasing and what could be contributing to this.
Michael Aanes is a student at NDSU majoring in Sociology. He is also an employee at Community Addiction Recovery Enterprise as a Licensed Alcohol and Drug Counselor.
Ashley Abernathey
- Hi! My contribution to our project was to research organic and
conventional farms and find out whether or not they contribute to the
rising problem of antibiotic resistance. We collected two interviews from
organic farmers and, with the help of my group, will collaborate all our
research and produce a final product.
Ashley Abernathey is a senior at North Dakota State University. She will graduate in December 2010 with a Bachelor of Science Degree in Biological Science and a minor in Psychology.
Victoria Albers
For this project I am responsible for contributing to the research on whether or not modern agriculture contributes to the antibiotic resistance problem and in what aspects.
Victoria Albers is a student at North Dakota State University. Her Bachelor’s degree is in Natural Resources Management. She is a seasonal biological science technician at Knife River Indian Villages. She is aiming toward graduation in the spring of 2012 and plans on pursuing a career in the National Park Service.
Tyler Burslie
- Hi. My job on this project was to survey people about antibiotics and
antibiotic resistance.
Tyler Burslie is currently a sophomore at North Dakota State University. He is majoring in Zoology and minoring in Criminal Justice with an emphasis in wildlife and fishery management.
Brittany Christopherson
- Hello. As a student, I was tasked with identifying an area of interest
within antibiotic resistance and thoroughly researching the topic. I was
to compile all the information related to alternative therapy I collected
and present it in a written commentary for the public. Furthermore, my
job was simply to participate in the course, learning from my classmates
and instructor through discussion, and hone my skills as a writer and as a
prospective science professional.
Brittany Christopherson is a senior Psychology/ Philosophy double major at NDSU. She earned her AA degree from M-State Fergus Falls in 2009 and is a 2009 graduate of Osakis High School. She is a current member of the Minnesota Army National Guard, serving as an Automated Logistic Supply Specialist. She plans to further pursue psychology at Kansas University in spring 2011, in addition to eventually earning her BSN with a concentration in Psychiatric Nursing.
Marti Hoekstra
- Hi my job for our project was to communicate with two organic farmers and
collect their interviews. I also collaborated with group members analyzing
our data collection and finally putting all of our information together to
create our final project.
Marti Hoekstra is a senior at North Dakota State University and will graduate in May 2011 with her Bachelor of Science Degree in Nursing.
Thomas Kalinoski
- Hi. My job on this project was to write an article review discussing a
prospective alternative method to antibiotic use.
Thomas Kalinoski is an undergraduate Biochemistry student at North Dakota State University. He is currently in Junior academic standing, and involved in organic chemistry research under the direction of Dr. Mukund Sibi.
Jessica Kopp
Hello. My role for our project was to write a comprehensive paper that will serve as our class website's introduction and background information.
Jessica Kopp is a returning student to North Dakota State University working towards her pharmacy doctorate. She is currently working at Thrifty White Pharmacy in Fargo, ND. She has previously earned a bachelor's degree in Psychology. Additionally, her first journal article was recently accepted by the Journal of Social Development.
Felicia Lamb
- Hi, my contribution to this website entailed contributing content in an opinion
perspective that was supported with scientific evidence. My opinions were created
through assignments applicable to science and writing.
Felicia Lamb is a nursing student at North Dakota State University. She is working toward finishing her BSN degree, after which she will go on to become a nurse practitioner. Her primary focus after completion of her degree(s) will be in brain injury rehabilitation.
Samantha Magnus
- Hello. My job within this project is to write a literature review focusing on the
antibiotic prescribing behaviors in clinicians and the antibiotic seeking behaviors
in patients, focusing on college aged students.
Samantha Magnus is a full time student at North Dakota State University and a full time employee of the North Dakota Air National Guard. She is currently a Junior at NDSU and is majoring in Psychology with a minor in Criminal Justice. Her primary research interests include post traumatic stress disorder, addiction, and the physical and psychological effects of shift work.
Josiah Nelson
- Hi. My contribution to this project was the results of a survey I
conducted that assessed public awareness of antibiotic resistance.
Josiah Nelson is a senior at North Dakota State University majoring in Zoology with an emphasis in Wildlife and Fisheries.
Jordan Reinbold
- Hello. My job for this project was to provide the public with an education
literature review covering today's most dangerous and prevalent hospital
infections.
Jordan Reinbold is currently a junior at North Dakota State University. He is majoring in Zoology with an emphasis in wildlife and fishery management.
Dale Sullivan
Hi. My job on this project was to assign work, collect work, design the website, and publish the work of others to this website.
Dale Sullivan is a professor of English at North Dakota State University. He has published in several journals, among them Rhetorica, Rhetoric Society Quarterly, Rhetoric Review, Hermes, and Technical Communication Quarterly. His primary research interests include the rhetoric of religion, the rhetoric of science, and the rhetoric of agriculture and food.
