This website contains materials for Dale Sullivan's English 754, Rhetorics of Science and Technology, for Fall 2009.
Sullivan's Lectures on the Rhetoric of Science
Summaries of sociology and philosophy books used in Lecture 2. (for week 2)
Two articles that I have developed out of the chapters above. I have added referee comments below the second article because it represents a work in progress. It has been reviewed and rejected, but the feedback has been encouraging enough that I intend to submit it elsewhere. I include referee comments so that you can see how negotiations work with journal editors and how referees for journals give feedback.
Sullivan's Lectures on the Rhetorics of Technology (These should be read during week three)
Also for week three, find an article in the GMO subsections of http://sullivanfiles.net/science_rhetoric/public_science/rps_index.html and post an animation of it. The GMO subsections begin a little below the middle of the linked web page.
Sullivan's Current Project: Lewis' Satire of J. D. Bernal's The Function of Science (Musings and drafts will be posted here as I work).
