What is writing in the disciplines at NDSU? North Dakota State University is in the process of revising its general education requirements for writing. Presently, students are required to take two semesters of first-year English. Beginning Fall 2007 All students with a composite ACT score of 21 or higher will take only the second semester of first-year compositon (English 120), but they will also be required to take a 300-level writing class, one that is at least somewhat discipline specific.

This web site is meant to be a resource for teachers of these 300-level writing in the disciplines classes. It contains syllabi and assignments that can be adapted by others. It contains an annotated bibliography on writing in the disciplines. It contains links to resources online outside this website, and it contains brief summary discussion sheets (animations) for reading in the area.
