Lesson 2: Growing in the New Life
- According to last week's lesson,
how do we enter into new life and what is the new life?
- According to the following verses, what are some of the signs
of immaturity in the Christian Life? I Corinthians 3:1-3; Hebrews
5:11-14
- According to the following verses, growing in the new life is not
just an individual thing: part of growing up is learning to live together as members of Christ's church.
- What does Ephesians 4:11-16 tell us about this process?
- What does I Peter 2:4&5 teach about growing up together?
- What does Hebrews 10:24&25 encourage us to do to help us grow together?
- It is not enough, however, just to participate in church activities: we need to have a private devotional life.
- What does I Peter 2:1&2 tell us about nourishing the new life?
- Divide II Peter 1:3-8 into two sections. What verses did you group together and why? What do they tell you about how to grow up in the new life?
- What does James warn us about in James 1:22-25?
- Finally, it is important to remember that the new life is not something we create, and it is not something that we can make happen.
- Explain what Galatians 3:3&5 tell us about how to grow.
- What does Colossians 2:6&7 say about the growth process?
- Explain how to balance the two concepts contained in Philippians 2:12&13.
